PHOTOGRAPHY & VISUAL ARTS
Born in 1968 in Frankfurt (Oder), Marcella Wagner showed a strong talent for painting and drawing from an early age. For her 15th birthday she received an Exa 1c SLR camera and taught herself the basics of photography. She was able to further develop her skills through painting courses with various artists in Frankfurt (Oder) and gained her first experience with artistic printing techniques such as linocut and etching. From 1986 she worked in the props department at the Kleist Theater in Frankfurt (Oder).
In 1989 she began a one-year internship in graphic design and printing technology in Ulm. From 1990 to 1993 she attended the state vocational college for graphic design in Ulm. There she dealt intensively with photography, free drawing and art printing techniques such as lithography, aquatint and screen printing. In 1991 she began working as a graphic designer at the Josef Reuter publishing house in Ulm.
She has lived in Berlin since 1993 and works as a graphic designer. She also works as a photographer for several online photo agencies and is active as a freelance painter. Her artistic work is particularly inspired by the Bauhaus style and the De Stijl art movement.
